Hetauda Dairy, a journey that began with a vision to raise the standard of dairy products in quality, sustainability, and community impact. Since our establishment, we have been dedicated to transforming milk into moments of joy, health, and positive change.
OUR STORY
In 1952, the Yak Cheese Factory was established in Nepal, marking the beginning of dairy development activities in the country. However, even in 2006, Nepal still struggled to produce the World Health Organization-recommended value of milk per capita, and the dairy industry had not yet reached its full potential. The country was forced to depend on imports to meet the population’s demands for dairy products.
Despite these challenges, Shree Lunkarandas Chaudhary recognized the vast potential of Nepal to produce milk and milk products. He saw that a significant fraction of the rural population was engaged in livestock rearing, but due to the lack of an assured market, the producers did not have the incentive to invest in good breeding stock, feeds, or veterinary medicine and services.
To address these issues and uplift the standards of quality dairy products, Shree Lunkarandas Chaudhary established Hetauda Dairy’s state-of-the-art plant in 2006. His vision was to provide pure, fresh, and hygienic dairy products across the country and make Nepal self-sufficient and competitive on a global scale. With the establishment of Hetauda Dairy, he wanted to ensure that livestock farmers saw the same potential that he did.
Located near the highway at Newarpani, Hetauda, the dairy produces an average of 20,000 liters of milk products daily. Its product portfolio includes different grades of milk, pasteurized butter, ghee, sweetened condensed milk, flavored milk, curd, cheese, and paneer.

Our Process
From our farmer partners, quality milk is collected through cooperatives, rigorously tested, and transported to our advanced factory. Here, it undergoes meticulous testing, unloading into raw milk storage tanks, and purification using top-grade machinery. Maintained at optimal temperatures, this pure milk is then distributed through our trusted dealers to retailers who ensure its premium quality reaches the customers’ table.
